Atlanta-based Aegex Technologies has opened its European headquarters in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
The company, which manufactures purpose-built Windows 10 tablets for industries with hazardous environments, chose Rotterdam for its European headquarters thanks to the region’s expertise in the oil and gas, safety and security and high tech industries.
“I am proud to announce Aegex’s new European headquarters in Rotterdam, one of the top oil and gas industry hubs in the world,” said Thomas P. Ventulett, CEO at Aegex. “I am excited about the great potential to make our intrinsically safe tablet the preferred IoT solution for hazardous industries throughout Europe.”
The new office is located at CIC Rotterdam, the European arm of Massachusetts-based Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC). Established in July 2015, CIC Rotterdam provides high-quality co-working spaces and support for both startups and established companies.
The company was welcomed to the Netherlands by the Deputy Mayor for Employment and Economy of the City of Rotterdam Maarten Struijvenberg, who presented a special plaque to Aegex’s COO Jason Deavin.
The Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) and its regional partners, InnovationQuarter and Rotterdam Partners, worked with Aegex Technologies to establish its European headquarters.
