UPS Opens Second Distribution Facility in the Netherlands
Location to Support Growing Demand for Healthcare Distribution Services
UPS has announced the expansion of its European healthcare distribution network with the opening of a new facility in the Netherlands. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, UPS is a global leader in logistics, transporting packages and freight to more than 220 countries and territories worldwide.
Slated to open during the second quarter, the new 245,000-square-foot facility in Venlo will be the company’s second location in the Netherlands. It is being added after UPS’s first facility in Roermond reached capacity in less than nine months, demonstrating a surge in demand for healthcare distribution services in Europe.
UPS healthcare-dedicated distribution facilities are specially designed to help pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device manufacturers meet stringent and often-complex regulatory requirements. The new fully compliant Venlo facility will include controlled environments for temperature-sensitive storage and distribution of biologics and healthcare products.
