Director Innovation & Development\, Enexis Group\nInnovations for the grid in the Netherlands\, Prof David Smeulders\, Eindhoven Institute for Renewable Energy Systems (EIRES)\, Department of Mechanical Engineering\, Eindhoven University of Technology\n\n \n\nThe Netherlands Ministry of Climate Policy and Green Growth sets the policy and develops the framework for the energy transition in the Netherlands \nTenneT is the national grid operator of the Netherlands and oversees the operation of the 380 and 220 kV high-voltage grid\, including the offshore wind parks\, and its interconnections with neighboring countries. TenneT is investing Euro 160 billion in expanding grid capacity in the Netherlands and Germany over the next ten years. \nEnexis operates the distribution network for power and gas to more than five million users in large parts of the Netherlands. Enexis will invest Euro 2 billion annually in the coming years to cope with the fast growing demand for power\, and the number of feed-in points\, which has tripled to 670\,000 in the last seven years. \nThe Eindhoven Institute for Renewable Energy Systems (EIRES)\, part of the renowned Technical University of Eindhoven\, works on technologies needed for the energy transition\, such as materials\, processes and systems for energy storage and conversion. \n
