Twisted Rope, a digital agency, has selected Amsterdam – center of the Dutch creative industry – to establish its European headquarters. Based in Buffalo, New York, the company picked to expand in Amsterdam over Paris, London and Berlin. Holland’s capital has the cultural diversity, multinational population and central location the fast-growing company was looking for.

“Amsterdam and Twisted Rope both thrive from diversity. The city has inhabitants from more than 180 countries and the agency found this multiculturalism appealing,” explained Twisted Rope in a press release. “In addition, Amsterdam is a tech startup hub and provides easy access to the rest of Europe.”

The company also noted that the interest and guidance received from the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) convinced Twisted Rope that the Holland was the country to be in.

“Amsterdam inBusiness welcomed us and showed that they wanted us to be there,” said Twisted Rope President Greg Norton of the Invest in Holland Network partner.

Dutch Creative Industry: Hub for Agencies in Europe

Holland attracts creative minds from all over the map, making it one of the world’s most multicultural hubs for talent. Therefore, several Twisted Rope executives will move to Amsterdam to join Netherlands-based staff. The firm will also add new hires in upcoming months.

Holland’s creative sector is rapidly outpacing traditional markets as a global creative industry hotspot. In particular, the Dutch advertising industry has an annual net worth of $12.8 billion.

Twisted Rope joins cutting-edge agencies in the industry including Wieden+Kennedy, Anomaly, AKQA, Wave Studios, and Frog Design, all which also have operations in Amsterdam.
