JBT Corporation Acquires Dutch Liquid Foods Solutions Provider

The U.S. food processing company has purchased Stork Food & Dairy Systems for €47 million

JBT Corporation, a food processing machinery and air transportation company based in Chicago, is acquiring all shares of Stork Food & Dairy Systems B.V. (SFDS), based in Amsterdam. The transaction, valued at €47 million, will close in the third quarter of 2015.

SFDS currently develops, produces and supplies integrated aseptic processing / sterilization and filling systems to the beverage and food processing industries, specializing in extending the shelf life of packaged foods. The acquisition will allow JBT Corporation to provide complete solutions to customers in the global liquid foods industry.

“We are very excited to add complementary aseptic and thermal processing and filling technologies to JBT’s Liquid Foods product portfolio,” said Steve Smith, Executive Vice President and President of JBT FoodTech.

Marc Renne, Managing Partner at Nimbus, the private equity firm that was the previous owner of Stork Food & Dairy Systems B.V., also noted, “I am proud that JBT, a company with a demonstrated commitment to liquid foods, has acquired SFDS.”
