Prologis Crowns Holland as Top Destination for Logistics Services in Europe

Venlo region hailed as most desirable spot across the European continent

Global leader in logistics real estate, Prologis, ranks five key location decision drivers in its latest report on European destinations for logistics services. Businesses are known to factor in these drivers when making decisions about the location for their logistics operations.

Out of the five drivers, the Netherlands ranks number one for regulatory environment, transportation & infrastructure and value proposition. It narrowly comes second for labor availability and proximity to major consumption sectors, netting the number one position overall.

Regulatory systems and multimodality

Prologis mentions that the Dutch market scored particularly well for regulatory systems and multimodality. It also refers to the individual regions of Venlo, Amsterdam-Schiphol, East and Central Brabant as specifically well-positioned within the country and the wider region.

Holland is a top destination for logistics services, ranking first for regulatory environment, transportation & infrastructure and value proposition.

Best crossroads of trade within and into Europe

The report concludes that the Netherlands is the best ‘crossroads of trade within and into Europe’. It highlights how the country’s advanced logistics network makes it the perfect location for businesses both big and small to expand their distribution across Europe and the world.

Holland’s logistics infrastructure is driven by world-class seaports, centrally located airports and an extensive, modern network of roads and highways. That infrastructure and the presence of top-notch logistic service providers are also major assets to companies looking to establish international logistics and distribution operations in Europe. The ability to reach 160 million consumers within 24 hours of Amsterdam or Rotterdam, makes the Netherlands the perfect springboard into the European market.

Logistics & distribution gateway to Europe

Add to that Holland’s supportive corporate tax structure, highly-educated, multilingual workforce, robust supply chain and advanced network of suppliers and it’s no wonder major multinationals like Coca-Cola, IBM, Huawei and Tommy Hilfiger choose the Netherlands as their logistics and distribution gateway, to Europe to manage their supply chain or grow their e-commerce operations.
