SEKO Logistics Makes Global Expansion Investment in Holland
SEKO’s second largest European operation opens in Amsterdam
SEKO Logistics continues its global expansion with a new operation in Amsterdam’s Schiphol Logistics Park. The 80,000-square-foot facility is double the size of SEKO’s previous Amsterdam locations. It will house the Illinois-headquartered company’s entire service offering.
“We needed this expansion to keep pace with our growth in the Netherlands, which is being driven by client demand for our eCommerce fulfillment, Omni-Channel and cross-border expertise,” said Bob van der Putten, managing director of SEKO Logistics, Benelux & Germany. “This expansion puts us on track to achieve record growth in the Netherlands in 2018 and serve our clients’ growing needs across the EU.”
The new Amsterdam location will also enable SEKO to satisfy the growing demand for its value-added services. Those include quality control checking, labelling, repacking, adding and removing price tags, knitting and light assembly. It will also support the company’s growth within core industries like aerospace, automotive, energy, government and retail.
Dutch logistics support global growth
Driven by world-class seaports, central airports and an extensive network of roads, Holland is a hub for foreign-owned distribution operations. Amsterdam’s “importance as one of world’s leading logistics gateways,” was also a major factor of consideration said Van der Putten.
The Netherlands’ robust supply chain network and presence of top-notch logistic service providers are also why multinationals like Coca-Cola, IMBA Huawei and Tommy Hilfiger have chosen Holland for European logistics and distribution centers.
