STI Marine Expands Operations to the Netherlands
US manufacturer opens distribution center in Rotterdam
New Jersey-based marine products manufacturer STI Marine has opened a new European distribution center in Rotterdam. The warehouse opened to decrease delivery time to European markets and improve efficiency.
“The Rotterdam warehouse complements our multiple locations in the U.S., the Middle East, Singapore and China, supporting our goal to make stock of STI Marine products available in locations where shipbuilding activities are prevalent. Now we are even better positioned to deliver our products faster, which is essential for both new construction and refurbishment,” said James P. Stahl, STI Marine Vice President and General Manager.
STI Marine’s products include water-tight sealants, firestop collars, non-hardening putty, silicone foam, and cable plugs for ships.
Gateway to Europe
The Rotterdam location chosen provides easy access to major shipyards and local markets. Therefore, the central European location will benefit local shipbuilders, who will now receive more responsive service and expedited delivery.
“Its strategic proximity to major shipyards will ensure STI Marine products are available to meet the rigorous demands associated with cruise ship construction cycles,” said Ruben Wansink, STI Marine Sales Manager for Europe.
Ranked No. 2 in the world for overall logistics performance, the Netherlands is a hub for foreign-owned distribution operations. In fact, Holland is home to more European distribution centers than all its major neighbors combined.
With world-class seaports, airports and an extensive network of highways, Holland’s infrastructure is an asset to companies expanding abroad. The Netherlands offers proximity to more than 170 million consumers in 300 miles. This central location makes Netherlands the perfect springboard into the European market.
