Headquartered in Georgia, Euramax is an international producer of aluminum, steel, vinyl, copper and fiberglass products. Customers include original equipment manufacturers, distributors, contractors and home centers worldwide. Founded in 1996 as a spinoff of a company called Alumax—subsequently purchased by Alcoa—the private company’s revenues approached $1 billion in 2011.
Of the company’s network of 55 strategically located facilities, 46 are located in the United States, one in Canada, and eight in Europe. Euramax CEO Mitchell Lewis noted that the Netherlands operation began as a “greenfield” plant initiated by Alumax more than 40 years ago. “This plant started as a small fabricator to the caravan RV industry,” said Lewis. “Today, it represents a highly sophisticated coil coating line with expanded markets in building and transportation products.”
In the last five years, the Netherlands business has expanded its worldwide footprint significantly. “The business now has significant representation and projects in China, India and the Middle East,” he said.
“The business cultures of the Netherlands and the United States are very similar,” said Lewis. “The Netherlands offers a favorable business climate. And the people are straightforward, hard-working and transparent. We find it an attractive place to do business, and are proud of the business our team from the Netherlands has created.”
