The Netherlands is the Second-Most Connected Country Globally
Study ranks Holland in front of the U.S. and No. 1 in Europe for ‘Connectedness’
International consultants from the McKinsey Global Institute rank the Netherlands the No. 2 country in the world for global connectivity. The country placed above the U.S. and No. 1 in Europe in the recent study, which analyzed 139 countries by how linked they are to the rest of the world.
“The global consultants found that the more tied-in a country is to the rest of the world, the better its economy fares,” reported Bloomberg on the study. Connectedness was calculated based on flow of goods, services, finances, people and data.
Frequently referred to as the “Digital Gateway to Europe,” the Netherlands is home to data operations for companies including Google, ServInt, Terremark, Equinix, Vodafone and more.
