The Dutch EV ecosystem, a springboard to the European market

In the Netherlands, we’re determined to leverage the opportunities of electric vehicles to further enhance sustainability and make mobility smarter. Our high-tech and automotive ecosystems welcome foreign companies that are keen to accelerate solutions here.

EV and automotive companies in the Netherlands benefit from numerous test & validation facilities for batteries and EVs across the country, as well as innovation centers for charging. The Netherlands has the highest density of charging stations in the EU, with 29.4% of all charging stations in the EU located in the country. Currently, 6% of passenger cars and 25% of personal transport buses in the Netherlands are electric.

Located in between Europe’s biggest economies: Germany, United Kingdom, and France, the Netherlands is OEM-neutral, and a great springboard to the European market. Solutions developed here are exceptionally well positioned for scaling up across Europe and beyond.

The Dutch Automotive Campus

The Automotive Campus in Helmond – located in the Brainport Region – is the national and international hotspot and business location for automotive companies with access to partners, knowledge, talent, state-of-the-art technological (test) facilities and networks. It is the heart of innovation and collaboration for smart and green mobility in the Dutch high-tech and automotive ecosystem.

Turkiyë-based Leo Drive, a specialist in autonomous mobility technologies, has chosen the Automotive Campus for its first expansion into the European market. And also US automation solutions company ADASTEC is part of the Automotive Campus in Helmond. Both companies are accelerating automated driving technologies within the automotive ecosystem in the Netherlands by collaborating with OEMs, software providers and sensor companies.
