T&D Diagnostics Establishes European Hub in the Netherlands
The Canadian company opens a production site in Zutphen to grow its diagnostics solutions globally

Canada-based T&D Diagnostics, an expert in diagnostic testing solutions, has opened a new production facility in Zutphen, the Netherlands. The company chose the region due to its long-standing partnership with Dutch Diagnostics, a well-established name in the diagnostics sector. Positioned within the Netherlands’ life sciences & health ecosystem, T&D Diagnostics will leverage its Zutphen site as a launchpad for growth in global markets. The company also drew support from the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency and regional partner Oost NL, which proved critical in its decision to expand in the Netherlands.
“Our strategy is clear – expand sales, production and development through a new, central European hub,” explained Matthias Volk, CEO of T&D Diagnostics. “We’ve chosen the Netherlands, and specifically Gelderland, because of the outstanding support we’ve received from Oost NL and the NFIA. There are few places in Europe that offer such dedicated guidance.”
Advancing accessible technology for a healthier world
T&D Diagnostics’ core mission is to make health testing more accessible with in vitro diagnostic (IVD) tests that are user-friendly, painless and affordable. When utilized globally, this type of accessible IVD testing can help mitigate the spread of diseases.
In this regard, T&D Diagnostics aligns closely with the values of the Dutch life sciences & health top sector Health~Holland, which is dedicated to creating a healthier world – including through personalized, accessible care solutions. Its innovative tests are also well-matched for the Netherlands’ cutting-edge health tech ecosystem.
With its new location in the Netherlands, T&D Diagnostics is set to accelerate access to its diagnostic tests, devices and consumables across Europe and Africa. Zutphen will house a spectrum of activities for these products: development, advanced manufacturing, marketing and international distribution. The company is also exploring opportunities in veterinary and environmental diagnostic solutions.
Growing collaboration with Dutch partners
Another major reason for T&D Diagnostics’ expansion is its confidence in the collaborative power of the Dutch ecosystem. The company is constructing its new Zutphen site next to Dutch Diagnostics – a worldwide IVD supplier and trusted partner to T&D Diagnostics for many years. With this investment, T&D Diagnostics looks to build on its existing ties and explore more collaboration opportunities in the Netherlands.

Trusted partnership with the Invest in Holland network
T&D Diagnostics received extensive support from NFIA and Invest in Holland regional partner Oost NL in setting up its Dutch operations. This included guidance on legal, financial and tax questions, as well as support for employees moving to the Netherlands.
Through NFIA and Oost NL, the company also gained access to international trade missions and key partners in the eastern region of the Netherlands. This trusted partnership between T&D Diagnostics and the Invest in Holland network will continue beyond the opening phase of the company’s new European hub in Zutphen.
