ELiAR Expands to the Netherlands to Pioneer Industrial Automation
The company establishes a European R&D center at Brainport Industries Campus to drive industry transformation, highlighted by Dutch delegation visit
Tükiye-based ELiAR, a pioneer in industrial automation solutions, has announced its expansion to the Netherlands with a European R&D center at Brainport Industries Campus (BIC). The move was highlighted during a recent visit by the Netherlands’ Minister for Foreign Trade Reinette Klever and a larger Dutch delegation to the company’s headquarters in Istanbul.
Minister Klever’s visit underscored the journey of ELiAR in the Netherlands. The company shared its vision for the future, in which it looks to leverage the Netherlands’ high-tech ecosystem, R&D capacity and innovation opportunities to grow its automation systems and solutions in the European market.
In celebration of the visit, the company noted on LinkedIn, “Our presence at BIC represents a significant step toward achieving our global innovation goals. It is a strategic hub to strengthen our international collaborations and showcase our solutions that push the boundaries of technology.”
ELiAR leverages Dutch innovation ecosystem for global growth
Specializing in industrial automation solutions across multiple industries, ELiAR’s decision to go Dutch is guided by its international growth ambitions. The company’s branch at BIC will become its primary research & development flagship and serve as a gateway to the European market. The Netherlands, with its open innovation culture and strong industrial and scientific traditions, provides a fertile environment for ELiAR’s expansion.
For ELiAR, the move to BIC enables it to tap into the Dutch market and access a broader European network. “Our primary objective is to serve the specialized vertical markets where we already have significant domain expertise,” said Mehmet Taygun, CEO of ELiAR, when the company’s move was announced in October 2024. “The Dutch and European markets offer particular opportunities for our Smart Sensors division, which are becoming increasingly vital.”

Accelerating Industry 4.0 technologies at Brainport Industries Campus
Located in the Brainport Eindhoven region, BIC perfectly represents the Netherlands’ culture of collaboration, in which ‘triple helix’ partnerships between industry, academia and government drive innovation. The campus allows ELiAR to work closely with renowned Dutch and international research institutions, universities and industry experts at every stage, from basic research to the development of final products.
In particular, ELiAR’s decision to establish a branch at BIC was driven by the campus’s commitment to fostering innovation in Industry 4.0 technologies. “BIC is dedicated to Industry 4.0 and other forward-looking industrial technologies, making it an ideal starting point for our mission,” Taygun explained.
Aligning with the Netherlands’ sustainable values
The business culture at BIC, and in the Netherlands more broadly, aligns well with ELiAR’s values of open innovation and sustainability. The company expects its Smart Sensors, designed to optimize environmental and process conditions, to gain traction in European industries focused on sustainability and efficiency. This technology fits seamlessly with the Netherlands’ own commitment to creating a sustainable future.
That mindset extends to the Dutch business environment, which enables foreign companies to create structures that foster sustainable long-term growth. “The Netherlands offers the necessary tools to establish an independent company board that safeguards the company’s future operations after the founders step away from the business,” Taygun said. This structure can help ensure ELiAR’s mission and values are maintained well into the future.
Support from the Invest in Holland network
ELiAR’s expansion was possible with the help of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) and regional Invest in Holland partner Brabant Development Agency (BOM). The two agencies played a key role in facilitating the company’s integration into the Brainport ecosystem. As a result of its expansion, ELiAR is well-positioned to pursue innovation and strengthen economic ties between the Netherlands and Türkiye.
