Silicon Valley-based Fortinet, a global cybersecurity leader driving the convergence of networking and security, is opening a distribution center in Almere, the Netherlands. By bringing its inventory closer to customers, Fortinet will accelerate delivery, increase product availability and improve the service experience for its partners and customers. With this step, Fortinet is the first cybersecurity company to open a supply chain hub in the Netherlands – thus marking a valuable addition to the Dutch cybersecurity and tech ecosystem.

“The opening of Fortinet’s new European distribution center located in Almere will allow us to stronger align to our customers’ and partners’ demands by delivering our products and solutions more efficiently,” said Joe Sarno, Executive Vice President International Sales at Fortinet. “Fortinet’s investment in this new facility underscores our commitment to serve customers across the European Union, and our focus on supporting European sovereign infrastructure.”

This investment also bolsters local industry expertise and further supports the Netherlands’ strong position in resilient and innovative supply chain solutions.”

Launched in November 2025, the distribution center will become fully operational by early 2026. From that point, Fortinet will fulfill orders for all its distributors registered in the European Union from its base in the Netherlands. In addition to adding high-impact roles in the region, Fortinet is further deepening its commitment to the larger Dutch cybersecurity ecosystem.

A match for the Dutch cybersecurity ecosystem

Fortinet is a driving force in the evolution of cybersecurity and the convergence of networking and security. With more than half a million customers and over 50 enterprise-grade products, Fortinet is dedicated to securing people, devices and data worldwide. The company leverages leading-edge machine learning and AI to offer top-rated protection and threat intelligence.

These services make Fortinet a strong match for the Dutch cybersecurity ecosystem, which is home to world-renowned security clusters and stands as a European leader in the field. With its expansion in this connected network, Fortinet is helping to build a business climate in the Netherlands where security, digitalization and innovation go hand-in-hand.

Building strategic supply chains with sustainability at the core

Fortinet’s decision to establish a distribution hub in the Netherlands is a strategic one, given the country’s position as a leading logistics location in Europe with world-class infrastructure and an attractive business environment. The company is committed to efficiency and sustainability, both of which are strong suits of the Dutch supply chain landscape.

Covering two floors and a total area of 12,000 square meters, the state-of-the-art distribution center in Almere will allow Fortinet to deliver lower logistics costs to customers in the region. This localized handling not only ensures shorter transport routes, but also reduces CO2 emissions, enabling Fortinet to further support organizations focused on sustainable business operations. It also positions Fortinet to achieve its short-term carbon reduction targets under the Science Based Target Initiative, as part of its larger global sustainability strategy.

Making a positive impact in the Netherlands

During the process of expanding in the Netherlands, Fortinet drew support from NFIA and Invest in Holland regional partner Horizon Flevoland. “We are grateful to be collaborating with NFIA on this new acquisition and are proud of this investment in the Netherlands adding to our recent infrastructure investments in Spain and Germany,” said Sarno.

The company is poised to make a significant impact in Almere and the surrounding province of Flevoland. “Flevoland is where technological innovation and supply chain expertise meet,” said Toon van Dijk, regional minister of Economy for Flevoland. “By investing here and engaging in public-private cooperation, Fortinet contributes to our region’s ongoing advancements in digitalization and cybersecurity.”

“We are proud to welcome Fortinet to Almere with its first major European technical maintenance and repair facility combined with a distribution center’’ added Maaike Veeningen, Vice-Mayor of Almere. “The arrival of this large cybersecurity company strengthens our position as an innovative, high-tech city. This investment brings advanced technology, jobs and a global industry leader to Almere. Our city is a place built for growth, and we are delighted that Fortinet has chosen to grow here with us.”
