Situated in one of the world’s leading agrifood ecosystems, the company is setting a new standard for design and functionality in potato production thus improving efficiency, sustainability and energy use.
“This new factory is state-of-the-art, designed with future generations in mind; to be able to bring the world together with our fries, delivering our loved potato products to more people around the globe,” said Stephan van Kuik, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Lamb Weston EMEA.

Sustainability and innovation at the core
Lamb Weston’s new, second facility in Kruiningen integrates advanced production lines that employ Key Enabling Technologies (KETs) to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact in the manufacturing process. These include Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) preheating, optical sorting systems, and eco-peeling technologies, that ensure efficient use of raw materials and optimize packaging. In addition, the facility employs advanced water purification and heat recovery systems that repurpose natural resources and decrease emissions.
Together, these innovations enhance the company’s operational efficiency and align with the Netherlands’ reputation as a global leader in sustainability. By adopting technologies that optimize resources and limit environmental impact, Lamb Weston reinforces the shared commitment to meeting climate goals.
Leveraging Dutch talent
Lamb Weston’s latest facility builds on its established presence in the Netherlands. With a head office in North Brabant, a production plant and R&D technology center in Bergen op Zoom, the company continues to thrive in the Netherlands’ world-class agrifood ecosystem. As home to the production and R&D operations of all top 10 global agrifood players, the Netherlands offers unmatched innovation capabilities, advanced infrastructure, and a specialized talent pool.
