Vibrantz Technologies Brings Sustainable Tinting System to the Netherlands

The U.S.-based company expands its presence in the Netherlands with a new production facility and R&D lab to meet global demands

Vibrantz Technologies, expert in advanced materials and specialty chemicals, recently broke ground on a new production facility in Sittard, the Netherlands. The facility will be operational in 2026 and comprise a fully equipped production plant as well as cutting-edge R&D laboratories. Vibrantz will increase production capacity for its patented Pearls™ sustainable tinting solution — the industry’s first volumetrically dosed tinting system of solid colorants for water-based architectural and industrial paints. This technology represents a significant step forward in reducing waste and environmental impact in the manufacturing process.

“Pearls is designed to minimize waste, eliminate harmful chemicals and deliver long-term cost savings, qualities that are becoming non-negotiables in our industry,” said Barry Misquitta, President of Color Solutions at Vibrantz. “This strategic investment underscores Vibrantz’s commitment to growth and our dedication to delivering groundbreaking solutions to customers worldwide.”

The decision to expand reflects Vibrantz’s and the Netherlands’ shared focus to innovate and build smart, sustainable solutions for the future.

Leveraging the Netherlands’ thriving chemical industry

The Netherlands is supporting a chemical sector transformation, prioritizing environmentally responsible solutions.

Among the global chemical industry, the Netherlands has consistently stood out as a hub of innovation and sustainable practices. With a rich history of pioneering breakthroughs, the Dutch chemical sector is now at the forefront of a transformational journey. Harnessing its collaborative spirit and embracing digitalization, the Dutch chemical sector works alongside partners and companies such as Vibrantz to build a more sustainable future.

Innovation and partnerships for a better world

Chemical companies in the Netherlands, including Vibrantz, are actively addressing environmental challenges. Collaboration between research institutions such as TNO (Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research), startups and government bodies form public-private partnerships to develop innovative solutions. These cutting-edge technologies focus on minimizing greenhouse gas emissions, helping the industry take substantial steps toward a greener future.

Chemical clusters, such as the Port of Rotterdam, Port of Moerdijk, Chemelot, Delfzijl, Emmen, Bergen op Zoom, North Sea Port and the Port of Amsterdam, further serve as hubs for innovation and collaboration.

Supporting green initiatives and sustainable practices

The Dutch government plays a pivotal role in supporting the sustainable transformation of the chemical sector. They enact policies, regulations and incentives that support green initiatives and encourage sustainable practices. The Netherlands aims to achieve a circular economy by 2050, focusing on reducing waste and maximizing resource use, in turn emerging as a prominent hub for the biobased economy.
