CoeusAI Goes Global with New Headquarters in the Netherlands

Founded in Canada, the climate tech innovator locates in Rotterdam to expand its global operations and industry partnerships

CoeusAI locates its headquarters in the Netherlands. Invest In Holland.

CoeusAI, a pioneering AI-powered platform for renewable energy planning, has established its new global headquarters in Rotterdam. Originally founded in Canada, CoeusAI’s expansion to the Netherlands marks a significant milestone for both the climate tech company and the Dutch ecosystem. The investment reinforces the country’s reputation as a global leader in the energy transition and digital innovation.

CoeusAI has structured its operations around the Netherlands as its central hub for European and worldwide growth. “The Netherlands is not just a convenient base but an essential part of CoeusAI’s ability to innovate, deploy solutions, and grow across Europe and beyond,” explained Vincent Marsland, co-founder and CEO of CoeusAI.

Accelerating the energy transition with AI solutions

CoeusAI is an AI-driven forecasting and prediction platform for renewable energy planning, future demand, grid connectivity, environmental impact and compliance – with a focus on onshore/offshore wind, solar, hydroelectric and hydrogen energy. It leverages advanced artificial intelligence to streamline renewable energy operations, significantly reducing project timelines and optimizing site selection at a fraction of the cost.

This strategic move to the Netherlands reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening its ties with the Dutch energy and entrepreneurial ecosystem, while staying connected to its Canadian roots. The Netherlands’ combination of strong digital infrastructure, leadership in responsible AI innovation, thriving startup community and commitment to renewable energy and smart grid solutions make it the ideal location for CoeusAI to expand its business.

By tapping into the Dutch innovation ecosystem, CoeusAI anticipates that 70 percent of its future revenue will be realized in Europe and expects to have more than 10 employees working from its Rotterdam headquarters within a year. “We are looking to integrate ourselves within the wider startup ecosystem here in the Netherlands, not only as an employer, but as a thought leader, collaborator and innovator,” shared Marsland.

How location, lifestyle and language secured CoeusAI

The decision to establish CoeusAI’s international headquarters in Rotterdam came after a comprehensive review of six European countries. Along with its industry advantages, the Netherlands stood out for its strategic location, high quality of life and proficient use of English. Rotterdam’s unique position between major European energy hubs like London, Paris and the Benelux region provides CoeusAI with efficient access to key markets, customers and partners. As one of the world’s top port cities, Rotterdam also places CoeusAI at the heart of maritime activity, offshore energy projects and sustainability initiatives.

Beyond commercial ambitions, CoeusAI values the Netherlands for its family-friendly environment, excellent school system and supportive community. The country’s openness to different cultures and high English proficiency are key factors in ensuring a smooth transition for CoeusAI’s staff and their families.

The Netherlands’ supportive role

The Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, together with Invest in Holland partners Rotterdam Partners and InnovationQuarter, played a pivotal role in CoeusAI’s successful move. “[NFIA], InnovationQuarter and Rotterdam Partners have been highly proactive in making introductions, helping us engage with local founders and ecosystem partners, and accelerating our integration into the Dutch innovation landscape,” said Marsland.

Thanks to the Netherlands’ strong support, CoeusAI has already engaged with leading R&D organizations and global energy companies and expects to announce formal partnerships soon. CoeusAI also plans to expand its core business and R&D teams in Rotterdam in the future. The company’s innovative platform is set to deliver significant value to the Netherlands, supporting national priorities for the energy transition, high-tech solutions and sustainable growth.

“CoeusAI is here to stay in the Netherlands for many years to come,” said Marsland. “We’re here for our customers and investors in the region. We are investing in the Netherlands and in Europe as a whole because we see it as our primary market and the future of our company.”
