The Denmark based biotech start-up Fuse Vectors has established R&D activities in the Netherlands. The company has located in the Dutch LSH ecosystem to accelerate their specialized gene therapy development.

Fuse Vectors aims to advance the future of gene therapy with its novel cell-free AAV production platform. By removing the constraints of cell-based systems, Fuse’s technology delivers a faster, scalable, and high-quality approach to viral vector generation. With its new operations in Leiden, Fuse Vectors is building a platform designed to support both early discovery and later-stage development.

Taking innovation further in the Dutch LSH ecosystem

Fuse Vectors chose to establish in the Netherlands because the country offers a fertile ecosystem for its further growth. As the company has progressed beyond the proof-of-concept stage, its focus is now on applying its technology within drug development.

Fuse Vectors said: “The Netherlands offers an exceptional environment for this next step, with a deep pool of talent, specialized services, and strong potential partners in both pre-clinical and clinical-stage AAV development.”

Accelerating the development of transformative therapies

Fuse Vectors decided to locate at the Leiden Bioscience Park because it provides a world-class ecosystem for biotech innovation. In addition, the company said it had excellent experience with BioPartner. “Their facilities are outstanding, and their onsite team offers invaluable support that helps accelerate our work,” Fuse Vectors said.

Fuse Vectors is contributing to the Dutch life sciences & health ecosystem through its unique technology that has the potential to make a significant impact on the gene therapy treatment. The company said it is continually exploring new opportunities and collaborations to accelerate the development of transformative AAV therapies for patients worldwide.

Support from the Invest in Holland network

Fuse Vectors is being supported in its expansion by the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) and Innovation Quarter (IQ), both partners in the Invest in Holland network. The Invest in Holland network connects foreign companies to Dutch industry ecosystems to help them to accelerate their innovation.
