US-based aerospace engineering company Nextage has opened its first European office in Delft, marking a significant milestone in the company’s international growth strategy. The new location provides Nextage with a permanent presence in the EU and enables closer collaboration with European customers, partners and institutions across the space sector.
The decision to establish operations in the Netherlands was driven by the country’s strong aerospace ecosystem, its international outlook and its long-standing reputation for engineering excellence. Delft, in particular, was selected for its deep roots in innovation and its proximity to leading research institutes, technology hubs and space organizations active in the Dutch and wider European market.
Commenting on the move, Iain Miller, Founder and President of Nextage, said: “Dutch ingenuity has shaped industries like navigation, engineering, and water management. Today, that innovative spirit drives the country’s leadership in technology and sustainable engineering, including in aerospace. Opening our inaugural European office in Delft places us right at the heart of a vibrant network of research institutions, skilled professionals, and industry collaborators. This strategic position allows us to better serve European space initiatives and share our expertise in mission operations, system integration, and testing.”
By opening an office in Delft, Nextage aims to better support European space missions and programs, while contributing its expertise to the Netherlands’ rapidly evolving aerospace landscape.

Delft at the heart of the Dutch aerospace ecosystem
The Netherlands is internationally recognized for its advanced aerospace capabilities, combining a strong industrial base with world-class research and education. Dutch innovation has played a key role in aviation and space for decades, from early aircraft manufacturing and satellite development to today’s contributions to international space missions and advanced aerospace technologies.
A large share of the country’s space activities is concentrated in Zuid-Holland, where Delft forms the heart of the Aerospace Delta: a leading European aerospace cluster bringing together companies, research institutes and public organizations active in aviation, space, drones and advanced air mobility. This ecosystem supports collaboration across the full value chain, from research and development to testing, integration and operations, and provides access to a highly skilled talent pool.
Bob Vernot, Vice President of Nextage remarked: “Delft truly embodies the spirit of innovation that has made the Netherlands such a respected engineering nation. It’s a place where technical excellence and creative thinking come together—where bold ideas are developed, tested and brought to life. That environment strongly aligns with how we work at Nextage, and it’s why Delft is the right base for our European team.”
Nextage’s arrival further strengthens this ecosystem and underlines the Netherlands’ attractiveness as a location for international aerospace companies seeking to scale their European activities.
A strategic addition to the Dutch space value chain
Nextage brings a broad portfolio of specialized capabilities to the Netherlands, including space vehicle mission operations, integration and testing, launch vehicle integration, avionics and FPGA design, systems engineering, ground support coordination (GSC) and the development of automated test systems. After over 10 years of trusted and award-winning engineering service provided, Nextage has moved into the product development space with the Nextage Modular Computer (NMC), and the NextMAG magnetometer.
With its new Delft office, Nextage is positioning itself as a long-term partner in the Netherlands, contributing expertise, innovation and international connectivity to the Dutch aerospace ecosystem while supporting the continued growth of Europe’s space activities.
