Observability company Dash0 chooses Amsterdam as base for European growth

U.S.-based firm taps into the Netherlands’ international talent and responsible AI ecosystem

Dash0, a observability company helping engineering teams understand and improve the performance of digital applications, is expanding to the Netherlands. The company will establish an Amsterdam office to support its growing European customer base and strengthen connections with the region’s technology community.

Founded in Germany in 2023 and headquartered in New York, Dash0 harnesses the power of AI to gather information about application performance and system behaviour together on one platform. This gives engineering teams a clear, real-time view of their digital systems, helping them identify the source of problems and resolve them before customers are affected.

Amsterdam offers talent and connection

Dash0’s European growth created a need for a base closer to customers beyond the German-speaking market. The Netherlands stood out for its deep, international talent pool with a strong concentration of experienced technology professionals and widespread use of English in business. Being part of the Netherland’s advanced tech ecosystem, also means Dash0 can easily find partners to innovate with and shape how AI is used responsibly in European businesses.

The Amsterdam operation will initially bring together account executives, solutions engineers, solution architects and business development professionals to support customers across the Benelux region.

Turning responsible AI into practical impact

The Netherlands’ emphasis on responsible AI and real-world applications closely matches Dash0’s approach. The company uses AI to help engineers investigate everyday operational issues, while keeping people in control. Its AI assistant, Agent0, presents the evidence behind its conclusions so engineers can understand and assess the recommended course of action.

Dash0 is built on OpenTelemetry, an open industry standard that allows companies to retain ownership of their instrumentation and data rather than being locked into a single provider. This emphasis on openness, transparency and control is particularly relevant for European businesses navigating GDPR and the EU AI Act.

The Netherlands, and Amsterdam in particular, offers a strong ecosystem for this approach, with an active cloud-native and open-source community, strong engagement in CNCF and OpenTelemetry.

Building a long-term presence in the Netherlands

Over the coming years, Dash0 intends to expand its Benelux customer base and grow its Dutch presence to around 100 employees by 2027. It will also deepen relationships with Dutch cloud providers, system integrators and open-source organizations.

Having supported Dash0 in the process of expanding to the Netherlands alongside Amsterdam Trade & Invest, the NFIA will continue to provide guidance and useful connections that help the company thrive in the Netherlands and beyond.
