Sparkling Water Brand SodaStream Opens Largest EU Factory in the Netherlands
SodaStream will supply Europe from Tilburg, minimizing its CO2 emmissions
Sparkling water brand SodaStream, part of PepsiCo, will open its largest European factory in Tilburg. The expansion of the European production and logistics facilities is necessary to meet the rapidly growing demand for SodaStream’s products in Europe, especially in the BeNeLux, where the company has experienced remarkable growth in recent years, due to its focus on avoiding single-use plastic waste.
Netherlands’ central European location will help SodaStream reduce its CO2 emissions
By supplying all European markets from a central location, SodaStream will minimize its CO2 emissions. CEO Eyal Shohat mentioned: “The opening of our new facility in the Netherlands is yet another step in SodaStream’s vision to change the way the world drinks. The opening of the new location moves us even closer to our leading European markets, helps us further reduce our carbon footprint, and strengthens our long-lasting relationship with local suppliers.”
The factory’s Site Manager Mr. Gabriel Shiterit said: “As a brand, we are constantly looking at how we can minimize our CO2 emissions in all areas. By managing a model of supply chain management optimization, we further reduce CO2 emissions and our carbon footprint. The opening of this factory, in the logistics heart of Europe, is another important step that we are very proud of.”
Diversity and equality are fostered at SodaStream
In addition to its focus on saving the planet, SodaStream fosters equality and diversity as the most important spearheads. This is also reflected in the workplace: the company is the number 1 employer in Israel of minorities from different backgrounds. Further, 40% of SodaStream’s leadership are women.
SodaStream Tilburg: 700 people on 40.000 m2 factory
Every year, millions of Sparkling Water Makers originating from the main SodaStream manufacturing campus in Israel, will be packaged and distributed in the new 40,000 m2 factory in Tilburg. In addition, the factory will produce and distribute millions of CO2 cylinders annually. The SodaStream factory provides employment to more than 700 people, thus contributing to the Dutch economy at both a regional and national level.
