Connected to Europe by sea, air, and road

At the beginning of 2019, the international logistics company, Yusen Logistics opened its first distribution center in Moerdijk. Yusen Logistics chose Moerdijk because of its central location with efficient access to sea, air, and road transport. By opening a second logistics complex in the same industrial area, the company is shaping a new logistics campus. The central location in the Netherlands comes with all the associated benefits. For example flexibility in staffing, consolidation of activities, efficiency improvement and simplification of organizational structure.

The new Yusen Logistics facility is strategically located in the industrial zone Port of Moerdijk, the Netherlands. Moerdijk is the fourth and furthest inland-located seaport in The Netherlands. The location offers excellent connections with the deep-sea ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp and the airports of Amsterdam Schiphol and Brussels-Zaventem. The extensive multi modal forwarding options to European inland destinations are an additional advantage.

Ideally located in the Netherlands to service customers

Jacques also highlights the location of Yusen Logistics in the Netherlands: “Moerdijk is situated in the center of two of the most important European sea ports, Rotterdam and Antwerp, and the airports of Amsterdam and Brussels, enabling us to provide both our local and international customers with our Freight forwarding and Customs services next to our extensive warehousing and international distribution portfolio.’’

Facilitating further growth for its customers

The new Yusen Logistics facility in the Netherlands features a recently completed multi-customer warehouse with a surface of approximately 28,000 m². The 24 loading docks provide access to the warehouse. In this state-of-the-art warehouse, Yusen Logistics will accommodate the storage and logistics services for multiple customers. Yusen services a variety of market sectors and will facilitate further growth for these customers. In addition, the logistics company will develop e-commerce activities at this second location. The new facility of Yusen in the Netherlands is expected to be open for business by the end of 2020.
