Australian counterdrone specialist strengthens Europewide operations from Amsterdam

Droneshield European HQ Amsterdam

DroneShield, a global leader in counter‑drone solutions, has officially opened its European Headquarters in Amsterdam, strengthening its long‑term commitment to Europe and NATO‑aligned markets.

The new European Headquarters provides DroneShield with a permanent operational base in the European Union, supporting its rapidly expanding footprint across security and critical infrastructure markets. Europe is one of DroneShield’s fastest‑growing regions, and its location in Amsterdam enhances the company’s ability to work closely with European governments, industry partners and end users.

Hub for advanced technology

The headquarters will serve as the operational base for DroneShield’s EU Centre of Excellence and aligns with the EU’s ReArm Europe Plan / Readiness 2030, which aims to reinforce Europe’s security capacity and strategic autonomy.

Establishing its European headquarters in the Netherlands also builds on DroneShield’s growing manufacturing footprint in Europe, further advancing sovereign counter‑UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) capability across the region. This also reflects DroneShield’s view of Europe as a strategic priority, given its position as its best‑performing market in 2025.

Underlining the strong international partnerships supporting DroneShield’s European growth and the Netherlands’ role as a hub for advanced security technologies, the official opening event welcomed senior stakeholders from government and diplomatic communities, including the newly appointed Dutch State Secretary for Defense, Derk Boswijk, and Australian Ambassador to the Netherlands, His Excellency Dr Greg French.

Access to highly skilled technical talent

Amsterdam was selected for its strong international connectivity, access to highly skilled technical talent and proximity to European decision‑making centers. The Netherlands’ open, innovation‑driven environment make it an attractive location for companies developing solutions to today’s evolving security challenges.

The European Headquarters will be led by Louis Gamarra, Chief Commercial Officer, who will oversee the continued expansion of DroneShield’s commercial and operational activities across Europe. The regional team comprises around a dozen professionals and brings together a multilingual workforce supporting customers across EU and NATO markets.

Louis Gamarrasaid, “DroneShield’s investment in Benelux marks a major milestone that strengthens our ability to support frontline users, procurement agencies and industry partners across Europe. With increasing demand for counter-drone solutions across the region, our new European headquarters will allow us to deliver faster, more localised support to our EU partners. We’re proud to be investing in local talent and infrastructure to meet the growing security needs across Europe.”
