Prosus N.V., a subsidiary of South Africa tech giant Naspers, recently launched AI House Amsterdam to help accelerate AI innovation in the Netherlands and Europe. The company announced it aims to concentrate world-class talent, infrastructure, and investment “in one of the continent’s most exciting tech hubs.”

Prosus already invests over over $100M per year in AI, increasingly in Europe. AI House Amsterdam is the next step in Prosus’s long-term commitment to making Europe an AI powerhouse, the company said.

Innovation hub to advance knowledge and creativity

With AI House Amsterdam, Prosus will contribute to growing innovation, creativity, talent, and value creation in Europe. The AI House is backed by Prosus and partnerships with Techleap, ‘AI on the Amstel’, MLOps Community, Dealroom.co and Nxt Museum. It serves as a campus-style innovation hub, bringing together cutting-edge startups, high-impact ideas, and a vibrant community of researchers, builders, and policy leaders from the Dutch tech ecosystem. The Prosus GenAI Fellowship programme together with events such as the Prosus AI Marketplace, the largest global AI-in-production conference, will strengthen ties between science, startups, and industry.

Amsterdam stands out as one of Europe’s leading hubs for AI talent, boasting the most dense talent pool of AI professionals according to population size, Prosus said. With its dynamic network of start-ups, world-class universities and tech-driven cultural institutions, the city is uniquely positioned as a launchpad to accelerate innovation in AI.

Shaping the future of AI in the Netherlands and beyond

“With AI House Amsterdam, we are doing what Europe urgently needs, concentrating ambition, talent and capital here to shape the future of AI everywhere,” said Fabricio Bloisi, CEO of Prosus. “Europe has the brains, the values, and the startups. We’re committed to raising our collective ambition towards Europe’s first trillion-dollar company.”

“We welcome Prosus’s leadership with AI House Amsterdam,” said Maarten Cleeren, Techleap Managing Director. “It is a valuable addition to the Dutch AI ecosystem and aligns with the broader effort we are driving together with partners to establish a founder-led national AI hub, a dedicated physical home for top AI ventures, talent, and ecosystem partners in the Netherlands. Strengthening the ecosystem will require multiple efforts, and we look forward to building this shared foundation in the coming year.”

Prosus has already built one of the most vibrant and far-reaching AI ecosystems in the world. At its heart is a global AI workforce of over 750 specialists, operating across a tightly connected network of innovation hubs from Prosus HQ in Amsterdam to Berlin, Bangalore, Cape Town, and São Paulo.
