Odyssey Europe Scales Up in the Netherlands
Semiconductor MRO company to expand at Novio Tech Campus in Nijmegen
Odyssey Europe, a subsidiary of US-based Odyssey Technical Solutions, is scaling up its operations at Novio Tech Campus in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. As a maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) company, Odyssey focuses on extending the lifespan of equipment critical to semiconductor devices. The company decided to expand its European repair facility in Nijmegen, which opened in 2020, after achieving swift growth in the Netherlands and Europe.
To meet high demand from customers, Odyssey will build additional laboratory spaces, purchase new test equipment and double its number of workbenches. The company also aims to grow its European team to 25 employees by 2023. Overall, Odyssey’s growth path is a testament to the Netherlands’ innovative High-Tech Systems & Materials ecosystem and nationwide commitment to sustainability.
Odyssey grows in Dutch high-tech ecosystem with support from Oost NL
Invest in Holland partner Oost NL has played a key role in helping Odyssey get started and grow in the Dutch high-tech and semiconductor ecosystem. The agency provided Odyssey with a loan to facilitate the company’s ambitions to make a positive economic and social impact in the eastern part of the Netherlands.
“Nijmegen is a great location for us: there is a lot of knowledge in the field of semiconductor industry and we can work together with other [high-tech] companies and knowledge institutions. With this loan, Oost NL supports us to take the next step and grow further.” said Angelo Andres, European General Manager of Odyssey Europe.
Contributing to semiconductor production and the circular economy
The production of semiconductors continues to be a global issue attracting serious attention and investment. Odyssey has built up the know-how and skills to repair radio frequency and microwave modules, which play an important role in the functioning of most critical semiconductor devices. For customers in Europe, Odyssey’s services mean a low investment so they can spend their money on other things than the purchase of new equipment. With its expansion in Nijmegen, Odyssey Europe is well-positioned to contribute to the semiconductor supply chain as well as the circular economy – one of the Netherlands’ highest priorities for the 21st century.
